Focus on Tanzanian Communities partners with multiple communities in northern Tanzania. We have a liaison in Tanzania who helps us by working with the members of the community and the local leadership to identify projects they would like to support and see completed. The scope of these projects can be broad; our only requirements are that they address the challenges laid out in the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, that they are sustainable, and that they have the support of the community.
Arusha
As northern Tanzania’s tourism hub, Arusha has grown in recent years from a sleepy town to a vibrant ever-growing city with expanding needs.
Karatu
A rapidly-growing community in the Ngorongoro Highlands, Karatu has become a model for sustainable community development.
Robanda
Set beside the western border of Serengeti National Park, Robanda Village captures the independent spirit of Tanzania as it strives toward community development against considerable odds.
Enashiva
In the heart of the Serengeti ecosystem, Enashiva covers a pristine remote African wilderness rich in wildlife but with poor resources and infrastructure for local Maasai villages.
