Kisongo School

Kisongo sits on the site of a former market on the road out of Arusha that heads toward Ngorongoro Crater. In 2001, a couple from Winchester, Massachusetts, Todd and Lisa Cronan, wanted to volunteer at a school during their family safari in Tanzania with Thomson Safaris. FoTZC helped arrange for the family to teach at Kisongo. Upon the conclusion of what they said was a “life-altering experience” in Tanzania, the Cronans held fundraising events in their neighborhood to contribute to FoTZC for construction of classrooms at Kisongo. FoTZC donated additional funds in order to construct more classrooms, while collaborating with the Cronans to sponsor two Princeton graduates to teach at Kisongo.
